  2. the second however was interesting of how the civil war was going out. and why would anybody stay right were they are in the middle of a war because they are making a name for themselves

  4. chapter 4 is a big changing part though now that jem is found to be a boy and rosellen is going to another place this would just a horrible life

  5. chapter 5 was confussing the yankees were fighting against slavery but they just took a bunch of southerns and used them as their slaves.

Sooooo i just know finished chapter 2 and loved it was awsome... i am very interested in wars and this book being about the civil war makes me happy....Who loves the book soo far reply if you do!!!!i cant stop reading this book it gets sooo much more interesting every time you read a diffrent chapter..here i goooo to read chapter 3 :)

  11. I liked chapter three but it is crazy how they all had to bath in there chloths...WEIRd.. this is a great book so far

  12. I haven't started the book yet, but from what you guys are saying it sounds like a very fun and interesting book. I am going to start reading it on Monday and on Wendsday on my way to Great Wolf Lodge and back!

    1. yeah i have read it all the way to chapter 4 and i am going to Florida and i am reading the book on the way there it is confusing in the first part put then it is better

  16. Ahhh, the dreaded slow first chapter has happened! Alas, don't give up!!! The author uses the first chapter to set up the rest of the book. She wants you to understand the characters and setting. Kirby is correct; it picks up after that. If you don't understand the first chapter, reread it, please. Ask yourself, "What did the author want to tell me?" As you journey through the book, think about how the characters change. Please stop with the name-calling. Thanks!!

  17. Finally I finished the book it was pretty interesting how what would happen sence the south lost all though it was the longest chapter in the book it was completly worth it!

  18. on chapter seven and six was about hannale
    well how ever you spell it act like a boy and she went to the girls place it was awsome i wont to go and lay out in the sun and read that whole thing
